Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980) Seyrettiğim Filmler 1

Sinemanın gelmiş geçmiş en iyi thriller (gerilim, heyecan) yönetmenlerinden biri. İngiliz asıllı. İlk filmlerini İngiltere de yapmış. Sonraları Amerika ya Hollywood’a geçmiş.

Ben İngiltere döneminden başlayıp, seyrettiğim ve beğendiğim bazı filmlerinden kısaca bahsetmek isterim. İlerde belki bu filmlerin bazıları daha detaylı anlatılabilir.

İlk filmlerinden benim izlediklerim şöyle;

1930 yapımı ‘Murder – Cinayet Var’. iMDB notu 6.4. Bir cinayeti anlatıyor ama bence oldukça sıkıcı bir Hitchcock filmi. Belkide ilk dönem fimlerinden olmasından dolayı. Filmin Türkçe adı ise Hitchcock’ın aşağıda anlatacağım 1954 yapımı ‘Dial M for Murder- Cinayet Var’ ile ne yazıkki aynı. İkinci film çok daha güzel. Murder’in Türkiye’de DVD’si var.

1934 yapımı ‘The Man Who Knew Too Much- Çok Şey Bilen Adam’. iMDB notu 6.5. Enteresandır Hitchcock bu filmi 2 kere çekti. İkincisi 1956 yılında İngilizce ismi aynı fakat Türkçe adı ‘Tehlikeli Adam’ olarak oynadı. Her ikisinide seyrettim. Doğrusu benim ikinci daha çok hoşuma gitti. Zaten iMDB notlarıda bunu gösteriyor. İlki 6.5, ikincisi ise 7.5. ‘Tehlikeli Adam’da en sevdiğim şarkıcılardan Doris Day ve Hitchcock’un oldukça fazla kullandığı James Stewart oynuyordu. Ve de hala çalınan enfes bir şarkıyı Doris Day okuyordu, ‘Que Sera Sera’. 2 filmin de konuları benzer. İlkinde kız çocuk kaçırılıyordu, ikincide oğlan çocuğu. Her 2 filminde DVD’leri Türkiyede var.

1935 yapımı ’39 Steps – Otuzdokuz Basamak’. iMDB notu 7.8. Heyecanlı bir casusluk filmi idi. Belkide o devirde kullanılan teknikden dolayı siyah-beyaz olan film çok net değildi (Bu da filme biraz haksızlık yapıyordu). Türkiyede DVD’si var.

1938 yapımı ‘The Lady Vanishes – Kadın Kayboldu’. iMDB’den 8 almasına rağmen ben bu filmini pek sevememiştim. Belki de oldukça kötü, bulanık siyah-beyaz bir kopyayı seyrettiğimden dolayıdır.

1939 yapımı ‘Jamaica Inn – Jamaika Hanı’. iMDB notu 6.3. Yine kopyanın karanlık olmasına rağmen benim severek izlediğim bir filmdi. Özellikle 1800’lerin İngilteresi ve kostümleri oldukça iyi canlandırılmıştı. Türkiyede DVD’si var.

1940 yapımı ‘Rebecca’. iMDB notu 8.2. En sevdiğim Hitchcock filmlerinden biridir. O devirdeki ünlü oyunculardan Sir Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders gibi oyuncular vardı. Baştan sona heyecan sona ermiyor, bence Hitchcock’ın en iyilerinden biri.

1944 yapımı ‘Lifeboat- Yaşamak İstiyoruz’. iMDB notu 7.8. 2nci Dünya Savaşında gemileri batırılanların bir tahlisiye sandalındaki durumları. Bu da oldukça güzel bir film. Türkiyede DVD’si var.

1945 yapımı ‘Spellbound – Öldüren Hatıralar’. iMDB notu 7.6. Ingrid Bergman ve Gregory Peck’in oynadığı psikolojik bir gerilim.

1946 yapımı ‘Notorious – Aşktan da Üstün’. iMDB notu 8.0. Ingrid Bergman ve Cary Grant. Nazilerle ve casuslukla ilgili bir gerilim. Ne yazık ki radyo bilgim yüzünden filmin sonunu tahmin etmiştim.

1947 yapımı ‘The Paradine Case – Celse Açılıyor’. iMDB notu 6.5. Gregory Peck ve Ann Todd’ın oynadıkları bu film Hitchcock’ın başarılı filmlerinden sayılmaz. Aksine ben bu filmi beğenmiştim. Müvekkiline aşık olan bir avukatın dramı anlatılır.

1948 yapımı ‘Rope – Ölüm Kararı’. iMDB notu 8.0. James Stewart’ın oynadığı bu filmin konusu değişik. Kendilerinden aşağı gördükleri arkadaşlarını öldüren 2 kişi. Kısa ama Hitchcock’ın en iyilerinden biri. Türkiyede DVD’si var.

1951 yapımı ‘Strangers on a Train – Trendeki Yabancı’. iMDB notu 8.1. Bu filmin konusuda çok değişik. Trende rastlaşan, orada tanışan 2 kişi birbirlerinin ölmesini istediği kişileri diğerinin yerine öldürme konusunda konuşurlar. Birisi bunu ciddiye alır. Hakikaten nefes almadan seyredilen bir film.

1954 yapımı ‘Dial M for Murder – Cinayet Var’. Bizim TV’lerde ‘Telefondaki Ses’ diye oynamış. iMDB notu 8.2. Grace Kelly ve Ray Milland oynuyor. Karısını öldürmeye çalışan bir koca. Filmin sonu oldukça güzel bitiyor.

1954 yapımı ‘Rear Window – Arka Pencere’. iMDB notu 8.5. James Stewart ve Grace Kelly oynuyorlar. Tekerlekli sandalyede otururken komşulardan birinde bir cinayet işlendiğini düşünür James Stewart. Türkiye’de DVD’si var.

1955 yapımı ‘To Catch A Thief- Kelepçeli Aşıklar’. iMDB notu 7.5. Grace Kelly ve Cary Grant oynuyorlar. Film ünlü bir mücevher hırsızını anlatır. Bu film Cannes’da ve Monaco’da çekilirken Grace Kelly Monaco Prensi Rainer ile tanışıp evlenmiştir. Bence yine bu film ilerde çekilecek olan Pink Panther- Pembe Panter filmlerine de ilham vermiştir.

Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980) The Movies I Watched – 1

One of the best thriller directors in the cinema. He is British. He directed first movies in England and then went to Hollywood.

I want to mention some of the movies I saw starting from the British era. Some of these movies could be discussed later in more detail.

Some of the first movies that I watched is the following;

1930 production ‘Murder’. iMDB rating 6.4. It talks about a murder but I found it rather boring. Maybe because it is one of the first directions. The Turkish title of this film ‘Cinayet Var’ unfortunately is the same with Hitchcock’s 1954 movie ‘Dial M for Murder’. The later movie is much better. Murder’s DVD exists in Turkey.

1934 production ‘The Man Who Knew Too Much’. iMDB rating 6.5. Interesting, Hitchcock made this movie twice. The second one was made in 1956 and Turkish title was different which was ‘Dangerous Man’. I watched both of them. Really, I liked tha latter one more. iMDB ratings also show these. The first oneis 6.5, second one is 7.5. In the second one; Doris Day who is one of my favourite singers and James Stewart who Hitchcock used in many of his movies starred. Doris Day sang a still played wonderful song ‘Que Sera Sera’ in the movie. Themes of the both movies are similar. In the first one; a girl was kidnapped, in the second one; the boy was kidnapped. DVD’s of the both movies exist in Turkey.

1935 production ’39 Steps’. iMDB rating 7.8. It was an exciting spy movie. It was a little flu and blur black and white maybe because of the technic used in those days. This was a little unjustice to this movie. Its DVD exists in Turkey.

1938 production ‘The Lady Vanishes’. Although its iMDB rating is 8.0, I did not like this movie much. Maybe, because of it’s rather bad black and white copy.

1939 production ‘Jamaica Inn’. iMDB rating 6.3. I enjoyed this movie although the copy I watched was not very clear and good. It showed 1800’s England and their costumes very well. It’s DVD exists in Turkey.

1940 production ‘Rebecca’. iMDB rating 8.2. One of my favorite Hitchcock films. The famous stars of those days like Sir Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine and George Sanders were playing in the movie. From the start to the end, the thrill went on. For me, it is one of the Hitchcock’s best.

1944 production ‘Lifeboat’. iMDB rating 7.8. In the World War 2, after their ship sank, some were on a lifeboat and this was their story. A very good film. It’s DVD exists in Turkey.

1945 production ‘Spellbound’. iMDB rating 7.6. A psychological thriller in which Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck starred.

1946 production ‘Notorious’. iMDB rating 8.0. Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant. A thriller about Nazis and spying. Unfortunately, I guessed the end of the movie because of my radio hobby.

1947 production ‘The Paradine Case’. iMDB rating 6.5. It is considered that this is not one of the good movies of Mr. Hitchcock. Gregory Peck and Ann Todd played. On the contrary; I liked this movie. It is about the drama of a lawyer who fell in live with his client.

1948 production ‘Rope’. iMDB rating 8.0. It has an interesing theme in which James Stewart played. 2 people who killed their friend because they saw him as inferior to themselves. It is short but one of the best of Mr. Hitchcock’s. It’s DVD exists in Turkey.

1951 production ‘Strangers on a Train’. iMDB rating 8.1. It has a very different and interesting subject. Two people who met on a train talk about killing the persons whom they dislike for each other. One takes this seriously. A very breathtaking movie.

1954 production ‘Dial M for Murder’. iMDB rating 8.2. Grace Kelly and Ray Milland played. A husband who tried to kill her wife. It has a good ending.

1954 production ‘Rear Window’. iMDB rating 8.5. James Stewart and Grace Kelly starred. James Stewart saw a murder which took place while he was on a wheel chair. It’s DVD exists in Turkey.

1955 production ‘To Catch a Thief’. iMDB rating 7.5. Grace Kelly and Cary Grant starred. İt is about a famous jewel thief. Grace kelly and Monaca Prince Rainer met while this movie was shot in Cannes and Monaco and then they married. According to me, this movie also inspired the Pink Panther movies which will be shot later on.

On a later article; I want to write about the other Alfred Hitchcock movies which I watched.
